A very decent pub, the star attraction of which is the carvery. For most of the week this is £3.50 for a decent help of any (or all) of three roast meats, and as many veg as you can pile on the plate. Despite the low price, the food quality is good, better than other carveries that I've tried for sure.
In these days of the credit crunch and all that, it's no surprise that this carvery gets busy, as it's good value in a way most pub meals aren't.
The service is decent and friendly, the atmosphere is fairly pleasant (more so now that there isn't a dedicated children's area too close to the main seating area, so your meal isn't constantly interrupted by screaming toddlers running past), the range of beers is basic but reasonable. All in all, pretty nice, if a bit lacking in character. -

I must agree with the other post, my partner and I went today, under £24 for 2 three course meals, drinks and coffee, only down side use of squirty cream in coffee
